Wandering Brussels - Matongé

This post is inspired by my Facebook feed since the updates are from all over the world. 

Being half Mexican, half Panamanian, living half of my life in each country, my time in London, volunteering a broad and now being for year in Belgium have given me the opportunity to connect with people from places I never imagined. Places like Syria, Nigeria, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Irak, Palestine, Pakistan, plus the latinos I meet around, all the Europeans and people I met traveling which remain good friends, so indeed its a very multicultural feed; I even see jokes sometimes in many languages including Arabic and Dutch. I have many things to say about this, but I want to focus in people's heart. 

As you may know, lately nature is causing big damage through the world, hurricanes, earthquakes, etc and I see my feed surrounded with people under alert, moreover people with faith. My Mexican friends keep positing the updates about how people they know are in need or sadly gone. Many of them are personally getting supplies, offering psychological free help and others are helping physically by carrying the fallen pieces from the buildings that fell apart in the first country I felt patriotism for. (The first because now I feel it for 3 countries and I feel empathy and connection with the world). 

Today I couldn't feel more proud of the sense of love people have deep in, how it comes out in times of need for their own country, for people they don't even know and the unity and support for the ones in need. Being abroad shows me sometimes in different ways these sense of humanity because I see and It happens to me even without speaking the same language we help and support people in need. We are all the same, we are all human beings and sharing a big smile a positive word or just something can change everything! 

If I wrote this, is because I feel proud and I wanted to express it, but most of all I want to exhort you all to do it more often to share a positive action daily even if it's just a smile.
